Colonel William Aylett, was, before King William County was formed from King and Queen County, a land owner in Pumunkey Neck. William Aylett was the first King William County Court Clerk, serving as such from 1702 until his death, before 17 March 1733.

Like Nicholas II, Col. Aylett was a large landholder, including land in Pumunkey Neck, where Nicholas had made his first land patent.
