Research notes for James Webb III
William and Mary Quarterly Vol 26, No.1, July 1917, pg 67 notes that this James Webb, Jr. "son of James and Mary Edmondson Webb, of Essex County, Va." was a signer of the Northern Neck Association in opposition to the Stamp Act of Feb 24, 1766. It also spells out his descendants.
Tyler’s Quarterly, Vol 7, Pg 273/4 provides a full transcript of his will. It also describes the family homestead next to the road going from Tappahannock to Urbanna in Middlesex County, about a fourth of a mile from Piscataway Creek and 3 miles from the Rappahannock river. There was at the time of the writing of the article, a family graveyard at the site. 754
