Lucy Smith was still alive at the time of the partition of her mother’s estate on 21 October 1740 (Land Trials 1711 - 1741, 194 - 197).
Francis and Ann Smith witnessed a mortgage dated 22 Dec 1743 that James Skeleton gave to Ben Johnson for property that Johnson bought from James and Jane Skelton, showing that Francis Smith had remarried by the date of the mortgage and hence Lucy was dead (DB23 – 112/3).
