Constance Christian (1711–1769)
Jacob’s wife was named Constance; some sources claim her maiden name Perkins, but several Oglesby researchers believe her to be the daughter of Thomas Christian, who was an adjacent landowner of Richard Oglesby. The vital information shown is from her Findagrave Memorial.
Constance and Jacob had three known sons: William, Richard and Jacob. Some claim a fourth son, Thomas, but his birth date and other factors indicate otherwise.

With respect to Jacob and Constant, I've done quite a bit of research on this. At first I thought it was Constance Perkins but I?m certain it is not. I have seen a lot of trees on Ancestry.com that claim it's Constance Perkins but I don?t believe that.
Thomas Christian was an adjacent landowner of Richard Oglesby, Jacob's father, (as confirmed through land grant records) and he had a daughter named Constant. I have a copy of Thomas' will and he names Constant as a daughter. Additionally, we have a relative named Mary Christian Oglesby, daughter of Jacob Oglesby (son of Jacob Oglesby and Constant) and his wife Mildred Martin. Mary Christian married Coleman Estes. I have a copy of Coleman's will and in that will Mary?s middle name is confirmed as ?Christian.? It was not uncommon for girls back then to take the grandmother's maiden name as the middle name (this happened elsewhere in the Oglesby tree - e.g., Elizabeth Dancy Cole). Based on this evidence I think it?s pretty certain that Constant Christian is the wife of Jacob Oglesby, son of Richard.
