US Congressman. The son of Dr. Thomas Walker, a physician and early explorer of western Virginia, he served as a magistrate of Albemarle County and a colonel of the Eighty-eighth Regiment, Virginia militia. A member of the Virginia House of Delegates, he was elected to Congress in 1792, and served a single term, from 1793 to 1795. He returned to his estate, "Castle Hill" in Albemarle County and managed his extensive land holdings. He was the brother of Senator John Walker of Virginia. (bio by: Garver Graver)
