Married Mary, widow of Baker, who kept ordinary at the Brick House for Bassett, the njece of James Nicholas, who left her £500 in event of the death of Abraham Nicholas, son of his brother Abraham Nicholas, as also a specific legacy of £1,000 (letter of William Nelson, 1769; see the Nelson Letter Book at Episcopal Seminary). He had issue of one daughter:

Susanna Meriwether (M152), the Daughter.
The daughter of Thomas and Susanna Meriwether was unbaptized and unnamed when Thomas Meriwether (M15) wrote his will. As mentioned previously, she makes her first appearance in the record, though unnamed, in April 1713 when her uncle, Nicholas Meriwether took a petition in her behalf to the Virginia Council. After another appearance in the record in October 1714, in April of 1714, the minutes of the Council read “The Caveat entred by Nicholas Merriweather in behalf of Susanna Merriweather Daughter and Devisse of Thomas Merriweather...” was referred to the General Court. This establishes her name.
Where Susanna Meriwether (M152) lived during her formative years is unknown, but her father’s will provided for her education, so it is likely she attended a school chosen by her executors. Susanna married John Armistead, gentleman of Gloucester County. John was the son of William Armistead of Eastmore River, Gloucester County and Anna Lee. William was the son of Col. John Armistead, a member of the Virginia Council. Anna was the daughter of Hancock Lee and Mary Kendall, daughter of William Kendall of Northampton County. It is not known when Susannah and John were married, but Ann Robinson’s guardian bond, mentioned in the previous section, was witnessed by John Armistead in 1729 which suggests that it was before that date, when she was about 21 (page 294). John Armistead wrote his will on 9 April 1734 (now lost), so he may have died shortly after that date. It appears that Susanna died before her husband since the property she inherited from her father went to their eldest son, also named John Armistead, as heir-in-law when her husband died.
John (M152a) and Susanna (M152) Armistead had three children, John (M1521), Susanna (M1522) and William (M1523). Nothing is known about John except that he had to sell all the land he got from his father and from his grandmother, Anna Armistead, to pay Susanna and William the bequests that the younger John was holding in trust for them.
John (M1521) probably died before 1765, the date of the tripartite indenture, since neither he nor any of his descendants are mentioned by Susanna Parker (M15b). Susanna (M1522), the granddaughter of Thomas and Susanna Meriwether married Moore Fauntleroy of Richmond County. From the tripartite indenture quoted above, it is known that they had, at least two boys, Moore (M15221) and John (M15222). The indenture also mentions that William (M1523) had a son named Henry.

John[5] Armistead (William[4], John[3], William[2], Anthony[1]), Captain, etc., married, first, Elizabeth (Gill?), mentioned as sister of Elizabeth Armistead in the will of James Burwell; and, second, Susanna, daughter of Thomas Meriwether, of Essex (William and Mary Quarterly, Vol. VI, No. 2, p. 100), who made his will in 1708, when Susanna was not then baptized. (Hening, VI, p. 405.) As Nicholas Meriwether, the uncle of Susanna Arimstead, had lived in New Kent, I feel certain that the Captain John Armistead was the husband of Susanna Meriwether. The New Kent John had sons John and William, and this last William had an only daughter, Susanna. 377
