Notes for James Pleasants Cox
“He became the partner of his father-in-law, Luke Oboussier and they operated a store under the name of Oboussier & Cox. He died early, about 1856, and is buried close to the grave of Luke Oboussier in Ghent Cemetery. His was the first burial in the new Cemetery there, according to an old Ghent newspaper. Death recorded in Vital Statistics. There is no stone for him in Ghent Cemetery, where records indicate his burial next to Luke Oboussier. There is
a stone for him (and Luke) in the Cox plot at the Owenton Cemetery.” 560
