Oglesby, Mrs. Harriett. Born in Lafayette, Indiana 29 Jan. 1848. Died 23 Mar. 1936, in Dist. #2, of Bright’s disease. Maiden name was Miss Harriett Amelia Yundt. Wife of Joseph Elliott (sic) Oglesby, who died 23 June 1932.

Survived by two sons, M. L. and R. A. Oglesby. Interment Greenwood Cemetery.

Funeral for Hazelwood Woman to be Conducted Tuesday

Mrs. J. E. Oglesby, 88 years of age, died at 12:30 o’clock this morning at the home on Trenton turnpike in District 2 after an illness of several months.

Funeral services will be conducted from the McReynolds chapel Tuesday, but the exact hour has not yet been announced pending word from a son who resides in Indianapolis. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Arthur E. Whittle, rector of Trinity Episcopal church. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery.

Mrs. Oglesby before her marriage to Mr. Oglesby 67 years ago was Mrs. Harriet Amelia Yundt. Her husband preceded her in death on June 23, 1932.

Surviving are two sons, M. L. Oglesby of Hazelwood community, and R. A. Oglesby, of Indianapolis, Ind., and a grandson, Joe Oglesby, of Hazelwood community.

Mrs, Oglesby had been a resident of this county since 1929 and had many friends in the community in which she resided. She was a member of St. Mark’s Cathedral Episcopal church of Salt Lake City, Utah.

BIRTH FHL 872188, 872189. Also found in 1850 Census (FHL 442953 p 67, 68), 1860 Census (FHL 803300 p 107, 108), 1870 Census (FHL 545861 p 182) and 1880 Census as Hattie Oglesby, age 30, Louisville Kentucky. EDO Birth book has 25 Jan. Family records give a birth year of 1848.

In 1880 Census, Joseph, Harriet, Milton and Richard were living in Louisville, Kentucky, where his occupation was listed as "railroad clerk". The family moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1883, where Jospeh & Harriett remained until 1929. In the 1910 Census, he and Harriett are living in Salt Lake City (as are both sons, Milton & Richard, though not in the same house) where he is listed as a rail road agent. In this Census, Harriett states she had four children, two of whom were living. In the 1920 Census in Salt Lake City, evidently retired from the rail road, he is listed as working as a hotel security guard. Additional information is illegible. In 1930, they are listed as living with Milton’s family on a farm in Montgomery Co., Tennessee.

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Oglesby, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Oglesby and children and Richard A. Oglesby are here spending the day with Joseph Oglesby's relatives, Mrs. Day and family. They will go to Terre Haute to be present at the marriage of Richard A. Oglesby and Miss Ethel (sic: Esther) Schaal, which will take place to-morrow morning at 10 o'clock. Mr. and Mrs. John Landis will also go to Terre Haute for the wedding. Miss Schaal is a niece of W. R. McKeen.

Note: Betty (Oglesby) Day is the sister of Joseph; John Landis is a nephew, son of Virginia (Oglesby) Landis, another sister.
