Nicholas Meriwether Seal
Found on the William May estate paper signed by Nicholas as executor. A better photographer might be able to capture the image in the seal. (Ambler Papers)
Island House Deed Showing Date
This shows the area containing the date is damaged. Some claim the sale was in 1656, but Nicholas patented the land in Nov 1661 and this shows a date of 26 Nov 1___, so it seems likely he patented the land when he bought it.
Meriwether Tobacco House
Drawing of Jamestown Island, presumably the Island House area, showing the “Mr. Merywether Tobacco House”, supposedly one of the first in the colony.
Island House area
Another view of the map of the Island House area of Jamestown.
Signature 1659
Land Patent
Silver Chalice and Snuff Box
The Marks-Barnett Family and Their Kin p. 305 has this picture and caption, but provides no further information in the text on who owned the items and why they were believed to have belonged to Nicholas Meriwether I.
