“Freeman Walker, my grandfather, born September 23, 1734 (son of David and Mary Munford Walker), was of Irish descent. He married Frances Belfield, of the Northern Neck of Virginia, a lady of English family of high birth, and settled a place called Stephen’s Green on Buckskin Creek, in Dinwiddie County, Virginia, ten miles from the courthouse and thirty miles from Petersburg. They had five children: two sons and three daughters. He died in the prime of life, when his youngest daughter was but six months old. His death was caused by lockjaw.” 469

“My grandmother married again, a Mr. Henry Broadnax. He was a widower with three children: namely, William and Henry Broadnax and a daughter who married Mr. Holmes, of Bowling Green, Virginia. By Henry Broadnax my grandmother had four children: one son and three daughters, all of whom lived to be grown.” 469
