While there is no evidence that Richard ever married, William Griffith claims that Richard Meriwether married married Jane Lewis, daughter of Robert Lewis and Jane Meriwether, and that after her death she married John Lewis.
Prentice Price and George King claim Richard married Jane’s sister, Mildred, and again after his death she married a John Lewis.
Both of these scenarios seem unlikely.
