George Reeves, grandson of George Reeves, Sr., was one of Alleghany County's best citizens. He married Miss Nancy Fields, who was a faithful wife, kind mother and charitable neighbor. George Reeves was a conscientious christian, had great respect for truth and a good, trustworthy neighbor. They raised a family, some of whom and their descendants, have been distinguished for talents and worthy lives. Their grandson, G. A. OGLESBY, is a talented minister of the gospel, member of the North Carolina annual conference of the M.E. Church South. Horton Reeves was an honored soldier in the Confederate army, clerk of Alleghany County and now a citizen of Texas. His wife was Miss Nancy Alexander, an amiable lady.
