MILITARY: Civil War - 7th Iowa Cav. Co. S, Re-enlisted [date to be entered] Mustered in January 1, 1863. “Character insubordinate. Was sentenced by court-martial in June 1863 to be confined at hard labor for the period of six months in Alton Penitentiary and to forfeit all pay and allowances then due or to become due during that time. Sentence was carried out. He was returned to Co. for duty in May 1864 when he was sent to Guard House at Camp Rankins Julesburg C. T. from which he deserted July 19,1865.”
