• Mr. Chapman was a prominent man in what is now the town of West-Brook, and, with his wife, Margaret, was of the first fourteen persons who were organized into a church at that place, June 29, 1726.

Captain of trainband of Saybrook, 1720; Captain of trainband of Tolland, Conn., 1735. He is mentioned also of Stafford, Conn. Said to have resided in Westbrook, Conn. The date of his death or place of burial seems to be unknown.
