• I have a considerable amount of information about the descendants of Catherine Charlotte Wurtele 1797. My late husband was her 3x great grandson. She married Duncan Campbell Napier in 1818 and died in 1837 leaving 6 children.5671

• There is quite a lot of information about him on the internet. His parentage & birth are a mystery which none of his descendants – many of whom were told he was a Royal bastard – have been able to solve. One can be certain that he came from a good Scottish connection & must have been illegitimate. The 1861 UK census shows his birth in Edinburgh in 1788 but this has no definite proof.5672, p 1
