• FRANCIS HOLMES of Stamford, Connecticut, died there between 27 June 1673, when he was named as a fence viewer, and 3 March 1675/6, when his heirs made a distribution agreement. His first wife, mother of his children, remains unidentified.34, p 266

• Francis’s will, on record at Fairfield, Conn., dated Sept. 6, 1671, makes mention of his wife ann and his children Stephen, John, Richard, and Ann, wife of Samuel Dean. She is said to have died about 1765, and to have been his 2nd wife and not the mother of [his] children.35, p 72
