• He came to America on the
Lion, arriving in 1631, and immediately moved to Roxbury where he became one of the founders of the First Church and was for many years its Deacon. He served as Deputy to the General Court of the Massachusetts Bay Colony for 33 years and also served as a Selectman of the town and was one of the earliest members of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company.
