Individual Notes
• 3-14-1905.
If you don’t know who I am without being told, you should, for I’ve been a Martin long enough for you to have heard of my arrival.
Some of you have been with us in our little home here in Rockford and know how much comfort we take -- the rest are all invited to come and see for themselves. It’s the dearest spot on this old earth. Wish we could all be together next New Year’s and help celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of my mother and father. Can’t you come one and all?232, p 14

• Oct. 22, 1905. Dear Ones All:
Isn’t this fun? I just enjoyed every one of your letters and feel better acquainted already. Let it continue. A very important thing has happened in our little house. We have the dearest little girl with light hair, large, dark blue eyes, and the sweetest little mouth. She will be eight months old next Sunday (Oct. 29). We call her Helen Aileen Thayer. We only hope she will grow up to be a credit to the family. We certainly take lots of comfort with her.232, p 54
