Notes for Joseph Micajah P. "Mike" Attkisson
I found in a D.A.R. book that said that Joseph M. P. Attkisson was buried on the farm of Oscar White, near Curtis McNeice farm in Cortland, Indiana. The cemetery is called the Kelly-Newkirk because of the School that was there at the time. When I visited the farm in 1989, I could not find it because it at this time was located in a corn field and the corn was too tall to see anything. No one was at home except four dogs, three came at me and the forth was changed down. He must be the bad one. Thank goodness they did not know I was a mailman or I would not be able to pass this along...B.A.

Update...Uncle Bud found this cemetery 1999 and found that Joseph and Hester A. Scott, Attkisson are buried there.

Location of cemetery...South of Cortland to 550 N, then west to 250 E, south on 250 E where it dead ends, the cemetery is about 10:oo o'clock from the front yard. This farm is owned by Barry McNiece, his phone number as of October 1999, is 1-812-522-7562... 13
