Source 5 combines both the privately published Pioneering in Texas and Wyoming with the North From Texas, Incidents in the Early Life of Range Cowman in Texas, Dakota & Wyoming, published by Texas A&M University Press. A single copy of an earlier printing of the privately published text and five copies of the later printing are stored in the flat boxes, along with the Texas A&M publication.

MARY ISABEL ANDERSON (nee FORBES) Mary passed away January 5, 1998 at Misericordia Hospital, where she received considerate and thoughtful care from staff on Wards 5 and 6. She was born in 1902 in Hartney, Manitoba of a farming family. After finishing high school she attended Normal School and taught in Dauphin and later in St. Vital where she met Beth Cruikshank, with whom she spent many years. In 1935 she married Herbert Scott Anderson and they lived in Sorrento, British Columbia tending their apple orchard until 1951 when Bert died. She and their daughter Jean then moved to Winnipeg where Mary worked for the Family Bureau until her retirement. -more-
