• Abraham M. Sheaffer, of Shiremanstown, died yesterday morning at a local hospital. He was 78 years old.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Sadie Sheaffer, of Shiremanstown; five sons, C. W., George A. and Clayton, all of Shiremanstown, and J. M. and N. C. Sheaffer, both of this city, and two daughters, Mrs. Lloyd Miller, of Shiremanstown, and Mrs. Ben Harmon, of Chambersburg.8403

Henry was wounded and captured May 10, 1864 at Spotsylvania Court House, Battle of the Wilderness during Civil War, taken prisoner and later died in Richmond Hospital. Per Civil War pension records. Mary's obituaries and funeral notices indicated she was buried at Wagner's Church, burial location unknown for both.
