Individual Notes
• I have several of our old family Bibles, and also the Noble genealogy owned by my great-grandfather, so I am fairly certain that some of the information regarding my family could be corrected.
My Bible says this, written in my grandfather’s hand: “The father (John Loomis) proved to be worthless man, and soon after the birth of their child, left for parts unknown.”2654

• John William Loomis seems to have moved to Indiana, right over the Ohio border, where he remarried, had a few kids and died, likely by the 1860s.2653

Individual Notes
• There was no estate record for Elizabeth Hay or Sarah Newton in Medina County, Ohio.2603

• One of the things I was curious about was whether Sarah Hay actually married John Loomis, thus producing Jonathan Loomis Hay, or whether this was a case of “smoke-screen by Bible.” In fact, Sarah married both John Loomis and Charles Newton in Wayne Co., Ohio. I found both records, although Sarah’s last name was erroneously transcribed as “Hoy.”2603
