• The great grandfather came to Canada from Scotland in the 1800s. All I know is that my Dad’s grandfather came down from Quebec province to Francistown, N. H. to have a farm. My grandfather was one of three children. My Dad remembers driving up from Lowell to Grandpa’s in the early 20’s as his Grandma had died (or grandpa) not sure — to help with the crops.
My grandfather was a quiet, private man but well respected by people and by his children. The Jelleys were a loving, kind family and a number were active in the Pimitive Methodist Church that they set up as church they attended in England.5446, p 4
• On Jelley side I know that the name was Jellison when they were in Scotland. I think name changed when he or they got to Canada, somewhere south of Montreal in 1800s.5450

• [excerpt] My Grandmother Alice Bostwick came to this country when she was 17 in the 1800s. Her mother had died in Leicester, England and her father took his 3 children (a boy and 2 girls I believe) to Massachusetts where relatives were already.
She bore 14 children though one died early or at birth. All the others lived to adulthood. They had a beautiful family life.5446, p 5
