• Remember it is also wrong in Historic Ledyard Vol 5.
I have looked at so much lately. I have a website what has not been worked on for a long time which I could correct Simeon's information. However a new computer has not allowed me access to correct it. And it wasn't that important until now.
As far as Esther Stoddard goes. She is not Ralph's(2) daughter. I have the Morgan Genealogy page 52 and Ralph's daughter married Joshua Morgan 13 Nov. 1760. Also HL Vol. 1 page 114 has Ralph's (2) daughter marrying (1) Joshua Morgan (2) Joseph Packer.
The Stoddard Genealogy is at the CT State Library. There are two Stoddard families that we were never able to connect. Ralph and Robert, both from North Groton. I show no Esther for Robert Stoddard.
Some of the records came from probate and land records.  I have excerpts of the land records which I can look through to see if there is info on who Esther Stoddards father is, if you like. Let me know.7136

• During the night this remote possibility came to me: Esther Gallup m. Elkanah Stoddard Nov. 25, 1764, Elkanah d. Jan. 11, 1771. She could have married Simeon Sept 1, 1771, he died Sept 6, 1781. Which then she could have m. Isaac Geer.
Simeon Allyn was b. in Groton Ct. May 27, 1745 son of Robert and Abigail. Vol 1 pg 180 Groton Vitals Barbour

response by DWM:
This would require one to accept the Barbour VR of Esther Stoddard marrying Simeon Allyn on 1 Sep 1771 as not using the bride's maiden name, but using her name as a widow. What's wrong with this? I assume that Barbour simply accepted whatever the church record stated. It fits with all the evidence...or evidence of anything to the contrary. Can't find any evidence of a separate Esther Stoddard...as a maiden name.
The only Esther Gallup Barbour entry is her birth. And, for what it's worth, the same unusual spelling of "Easther" is used for both entries in Barbour: 1) her birth as Gallup, and 2) her marriage as Easther Stoddard to Simeon Allyn.
I think your overnight thinking is not "remote" but probable. I'm going to revert my records to show three marriages for her until proven otherwise.7137
