• The Haskins family was of English origin migrating to Connecticut to Vermont, and via New York State to Canada after the American Revolution. Joseph and his wife Elizabeth, three sons, four daughters and three sons-in-law all settled in Wolford. One descendant said he had hears “the Haskins family came in a block.”2432

• Dana Vincent states he found in “Connecticut Men in the Revolutionary War” a Joseph Haskin, Trumpeter, marched Oct. 25, discharged Nov. 29, 1776. He was in Captain Seymour’s Company.992, p 2
