• Ed grew up in Morgan Hill, moving to Redwood City in about 1941. During the war, he recalls air raid warnings requiring every family to have no lights showing. Military caravans would drive by running with nightlights. During that period, the Cow Palace was used by the army for quartermaster corps.2008, p 3
