• They came to this country, landing in Boston in 1635. George came to New London about 1651, probably with Robert Allyn and others.3591
• George1 was born in England in 1621 and arrived in Boston - probably penniless - at the age of fourteen in 1635. He was listed with the Pequot Company in New London in 1651 and was married in New London in 1658 to Sarah Allyn, daughter of Robert Allyn, who was also of the Pequot Company. Soon after his marriage, George settled on a grant of 50 acres from the town of New London across the “Greate River” near his father-in-law’s land. In 1665, he bought one of the 100 acre “Poquetanock Grants” from New London.2476, p 106
• George Geer removed to Preston about six years before his death and he was nearly if not totally blind some few years before his removal from Groton. It is therefore probable that he did not write his own will.3299, p 515
