• A daughter of Paul Williams became the wife of Mr. George Babcock, and succeeded to the homestead, on the death of the mother. A son of the Babcocks, Williams P. Babcock, now 64 years of age, is still living here. I have interviewed him, but he can give me no information that will be of any practical worth to you in your research. He thinks there is a family record in existence, possibly in possession of a sister-in-law in a neighboring town which he will try and hunt up. If he finds anything of value to you I will advise you later. Mr. Babcock thinks that his cousin, Emeline Williams, knows more about the early history of the family than any other person now living.
