At a meting of the stockholders held Jan. 2, 1865, papers from the comptroller of the currency authorizing the National Bank of Commerce to commence the business of banking were read in the meeting by the chairman, afterh which the following directors were chosen: M. K. Cady, Charles Miner, etc. [2547, p 219]
• The Mariners’ Savings-Bank was incorporated by act of the General Assembly at its May session, 1867. The following is a list of its incorporators: …Charles Miner, etc. [2547, p 220]
• Must have been husband of Mrs. Chas H. Miner and Chas Miner Gorham was named after him. [3884]

This would indicate that the bible referred to above belonged to his wife and that he was an Uncle of Chas. Miner Gorham, and his wife the sister of George Gorham, son of Lot Gorham. The imprinted date of the bible 1834 [was] 2 years before George Gorham’s death.
