Thomas Cushman came to Plymouth on the Fortune in 1621.
He was Elder of the Plymouth Church from 6 April 1649 until his death.
[423, p 4]• Thomas succeeded William Brewster as Ruling Elder upon Brewster’s death in 1644.
[4460, p 2]• Thomas was Elder for 42 years until his death, a most exceptional record. He held various town offices, and was an extremely useful citizen.

• A daughter of Isaac and Mary, Mary Allerton married Thomas Cushman, q.v. When she died in 1699, she was the last survivor of the Mayflower trans-Atlantic passengers (Peregrine White died in 1704, but he was born at Provincetown).
