• Sorry to wait so long to answer your request but I was waiting until our oldest son Dale (no. 3) visited us from Bozeman, Montana. He is an archeologist-historian and I feel he is better qualified to give you the information on your request. He is here now and will be staying for the next two weeks.
We have three children. Dale, the oldest, Valerie next and Eric, the youngest. Valerie lives on a wheat farm near the Idaho border, has three girls, the oldest who graduates this summer in animal science. That comprises the sum total of the grandchildren so this branch of the Martins ends here. No great loss as there appears to be millions of Martins inhabiting this world.
Both Leila and I have been retired for sixteen years from teaching. Leila from Home Economics and myself from Electronics and Physics, both of us teaching in high school. In the distant past I spent time in a sawmill, shipyards, Army Air Force, GI Bill, Office of Naval Research, Boeing (for twenty years), then teaching for fourteen.
We both keep busy volunteering at two museums and Leila adding time with the Bellevue Botanical Gardens. She gets to play with flowers, and I get to play with big heavy machinery in restoration projects such as a railroad locomotive, steam togging donkeys, and other rusty, greasy things.
