• A record of the men conspicuous in New London affairs during the period between the years 1833 and 1876 would be sadly incomplete with the name of Martin K. Cady omitted. A leading merchant for more than forty years, upright and honorable, and beloved by all, well and justly deserves a tribute from the pen of the chronicler of passing events in New London County.2547, pp 239-240
