• William Champlin was Justice of the Peace for Westerly; he was also Deputy for Westerly at the General Assembly [many years]. At a town meeting held Apr. 7, 1709, he was “voted to have a grant of one hundred acres” of land, and was empowered to agree with Ninecraft, sachem, for “a perpetual high road to the salt water from Queen’s Rhoade.”
