• Her husband, John Allyn, “a child of the church,” was censured for fornication before marriage by the elders of the West Parish Church in Barnstable, the same church attended by her parents, their first four children were recorded in Barnstable town records under the heading, “John Allyn & Mary Howland Married.”3451, p 13

• John Allyn and his family moved to what was then called Aspinock CT, from Middleborough, Plymouth Co., Mass., about 1703 if not earlier. He described himself in one land record as living on the East side of the Quinebaug River in Windham County, near Woodstock, in Connecticut. He and his wife Mary Howland probably died there sometime after 1703. The place John Allyn described may be in what is now known as Killingly Township, because his eldest surviving son had a farm there in addition to two other farms.3458, p 1
