Individual Notes
• Richard Church probably came in Gov. Winthrop’s Co. to Boston 1630. He requested admission as freeman there, Oct. 19, 1630; removed to Plymouth, Mass., freeman there, Jan. 2, 1632-3. Came over in the Ann, 1623. He served in the Pequot war, and was known as “Sargeant Church.” [78, p 235]

• Richard Church emigrated from England, and settled at Plymouth, Mass. He came in one of the early companies to that place. As nearly as can now be traced, he was an uncle of Col. Benjamin Church, who commanded the party which killed King Philip, in 1676, and who was sent on an expedition against the eastern Indians of New England, in 1704, and did them and the French much damage. He removed to Hartford, Conn., with Mr. Hooker’s congregation, in 1636. [33, p 526]
