Individual Notes
• She is the author of the Hamilton-Nelson story contained in the 11 Nov 1960 letter from Monabelle & Raymond Read to Carol Holstine.
2168, p 2• The above Mary Jane is the one who wrote the story on Hamilton-Nelson that I sent you earlier. She is now dead too.
1435, p 2• The Hamilton-Nelson manuscript was written by a dau. of Anna Maria (Arnold) Read and as executor of a granddaugter's estate, I got it (with other data). I am sure the data was recorded as accurately as possible so far as verbal recall, but in 19th century access to confirming records was not possible. Since there are no living descendants, we are at the end of the road.
3228• You suggested that “Aunt Chat” was Mary Jane Read. Not so. I visited her in 1954 and Mary Jane died in 1943. My sister says her name was Charlotte Read and it appears that the “Chat” was short for Charlotte and not Chatterson.

Individual Notes
• I have a photo of Henry Chatterson looking very sporty on a plaid suit. He was a "bad" man. He had a hut back in the bush and [shock, horror] he bet on the horses! I also have the Chatterson family bible and some other photos of that family, including his daughters Edna and Bert[ha].
