• The old family charts and notes that were brought from Ireland were shared and published in "A History of The House of Hamilton" (1933). This book records that "John, who had issue a daughter who married Bulmer ("Boomers") of Brookfield, Nova Scotia".... this information led to the only Boomer family to live in Brookfield during this time - Joseph & Jane Boomer. Joseph died intestate in 1803, at the age of 40, leaving minor children. There is no mention of their mother Jane, so she has predeceased her husband. Guardians were needed for the children and William Hamilton & William English were approved & appointed by the probate court. William Hamilton is the son of Robert Hamilton and would be Jane's first cousin and her nearest family member. William English (husband of Mary Jeffrey) is the brother-in-law of John Boomer, eldest son of Joseph & Jane Boomer. John is the husband (or soon to be husband) of Margaret Jeffrey, sister of Mary (Jeffrey) English. Because of this convincing evidence, I am confident to place Mrs. Jane Boomer as the daughter of John Hamilton in this record.8369
