Individual Notes
• He moved with his parents and siblings to Northampton, Carleton Co., NB in 1798. A Woodstock Anglican Church baptismal record dated 3 May, 1802 indicates that his age was “18 years of age the 7 of February next.” Based on a story told by an uncle and recorded in a letter dated 29 April 1914, James had an altercation with his father and brother Joseph and left home without any further communication. He returned to the USA, where in 1812, he was listed with the NY Militia Volunteers. James may have married twice but there is no record. He married Mary M Lamerson in 1812 and had relocated to Michigan by 1820 where he spent the rest of his life (this was written by Carl Wolverton as mentioned above).4466
