• The funeral of Mrs. Catherine Degelmann, mother of former Councilman Andrew Degelmann, took place last Monday afternoon from the home of her son, Johann in Third Street. The floral offerings of sympathy were evidence of esteem in which the old lady was held. Rev. H.C. Beckman of the St. Matthew’s Church, conducted the service and the remains were interred in Fairview Cemetery. Undertaker August Schell had charge of the funeral arrangements.8978

• I found the will for Andreas Degelmann, date of death 10 Jan 1916 but could not locate a death cert. His will left everything to his wife Katharina Degelmann. Upon her death, everything would go to children Andrew, Michael, Johan J, Christina (wife of John Leipold), John and George.5187

• Andrew Degelmann, father of Councilman Andrew Degelmann was buried from his late residence on Third Street, Thursday afternoon. THe deceased was 79 years of age. The day of burial being the twenty-fifth anniversary of his arrival in this country from Bayern,Bavaria, where he was born. He leaves a widow and four sons. An only daughter, Mrs. J. Leipold of Second Street died four weeks ago. Mr. and Mrs. Degelmann were married fifty seven years. The remains were interred in Fairview Cemetery.8982
