• He accompanied his parents on the ship Hercules that sailed from England in 1634/5.1378

• From 1680 to 1710 he was more prominent in public affairs than any other inhabitant in the town. He was town clerk, moderator, justice, judge of the county court and judge of probate. No man in the country stood higher in point of talent and integrity.627

• Town clerk of New London, justice and judge of probate sired six sons all of whom died young or at birth.628

• Daniel Wetherell was mentioned in the will of Uncas (b. ca. 1588, d. ?1683; will dated Feb. 29, 1675), who was sachem of the Mohegan Indians, and ally of the English in all wars against the Indians during his life.1378

• Death “at sea, Barbadoes.”1379

• Died “in the morning at sun about an hour high, being in the 89th year of his age.”1378
