• Joseph Coit, son of John and Mary Jenners Coit, born -----, was, probably, one of the younger children of his parents, and born (perhaps) in Salem, probably came with his father from Gloucester to London about 1651, and spent the remainder of his life there, carrying on the trade of ship-building with his brother-in-law, Hugh Mould.693

• Joseph, the youngest son of John Coit, is the ancestor of all the Connecticut stock of Coits, and perhaps of all who bear the name in the United States.67
