• William Burnham was their first minister and was given extensive lands as an inducement to go there [Farmington]. The well dug for these first families in 1680 is still in use on Christian Lane, and has been credited in the past with unusual healing qualities.3315

• The society of Kensington lost their minister, the Rev. William Burnham, in 1750, and the direct result of this was the division of that community, long threatened, and the incorporation of the society of New Britain.3315
