Although the father died suddenly when Bill was twelve, the family rallied.4683

• Honoree of the Albion Walter Hewlett Award, established 1983, to honor “the physician of care and skill who is committed to discovering and using biologic knowledge, wisdom and compassion to return patients to productive lives.” Recipients are also noted for being role models for future academician and practitioners of medicine.5909

The funeral service will be held at 11 o’clock Tuesday morning, November 17, at Grace Cathedral, California and Taylor streets. Interment private.7913
